A patient fell to his death Monday from a third-floor window at Waterview Heights Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Rochester, New York.
Rochester Police Department Captain Greg Bello said officers responded to the facility around 6:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a patient falling from a third-floor window. First responders found a man in his 60s on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bello said there were no signs of criminal circumstances surrounding the man's death.
The incident occurred less than a week after residents of Waterview Heights learned the facility will be closing and that they will need to relocate. The nursing home has faced years of problems and scrutiny prior to the closure announcement.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to contact 911.
