G7 leaders convened in Évian-les-Bains, France on Tuesday to address the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, now in its fifth year of Russian aggression. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated in discussions with the group and subsequently posted on social media to express gratitude for the meeting.

Zelenskyy thanked fellow leaders for their time and "for the strong ideas on how to force Russia into peace." He outlined three key priorities emerging from the discussion: increased air defense missiles along with licenses to produce them, a winter support package, and intensified pressure on Russia.

According to Zelenskyy's statement, the United States indicated readiness to provide backing across these lines of effort. He emphasized the importance of implementing everything discussed during the meeting and stressed that "Russia must come to learn that its war will never be normalized."

U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking during the G7 meeting, stated that Russia "should make a deal" to end the war. His remarks came as part of broader discussions among G7 members about renewed efforts to conclude the conflict.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul was among those suggesting that further diplomatic initiatives could take place, according to reports from the summit. The meeting reflected growing international calls for a renewed push to end the conflict.

Zelenskyy concluded his social media post by thanking "everyone who's helping" and noted that implementation of the discussed measures would be critical moving forward.
