Dalton Eatherly, known online as "Chud the Builder," has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting outside a Tennessee courthouse Wednesday, officials said.
The incident occurred outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville. According to District Attorney Robert J. Nash, Eatherly shot an unidentified man during a fight. Eatherly also accidentally shot himself during the altercation, Nash said.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of shots fired and detained two men involved in the dispute that escalated into gunfire. Both men suffered bullet wounds. One was transported to a local hospital and the other was treated at the scene. Both were listed in stable condition.
Eatherly was booked on multiple charges: criminal attempt: murder, employing a firearm during dangerous felony, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, the sheriff's office announced.
According to witnesses, the man Eatherly shot was Black. Eatherly livestreamed from the shooting scene and blamed his gunfire on the other man confronting him, according to reports.
Eatherly, 28, was at the courthouse for a civil case over unpaid debts. The appearance came days after his arrest for skipping out on a $400 restaurant bill while refusing to stop streaming.
Eatherly has amassed an online following by filming himself spewing racial slurs to provoke reactions from viewers.
