Veteran Italian singer-songwriter Claudio Baglioni has postponed his "Grand Tour La vita è adesso" (Grand Tour Life Is Now) from 2026 to 2027 due to acute interstitial pneumonia, according to a statement released Monday.
The tour was scheduled to debut on June 29, 2026, in Piazza San Marco in Venice. The 75-year-old Rome-born artist, known for songs including "Strada Facendo," requires approximately 90 days of rest and treatment, officials said. Baglioni was hospitalized at a private clinic in northern Rome near Corso Francia.
In a video posted on Instagram, Baglioni described the postponement as a difficult decision. He referenced a verse from his song "Uomo di varie età" ("Man of Various Ages"), saying "I have held back my eyes and my lungs," a phrase he noted related to aspects of his life and profession.
The rescheduled tour will begin on July 1, 2027, from Villa Manin in Codroipo in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. The tour will then proceed across Italy, visiting Este, Marostica, Villafranca, Pistoia, Genoa, Cernobbio, Florence, Cattolica, Pompeii, Agrigento, Palermo, and other cities. The new calendar maintains the same structure as originally planned for 2026, shifted forward by one year.
Tickets purchased for the original 2026 dates remain valid for all rescheduled performances in 2027. Organizers said the decision was made to avoid penalizing spectators who had already bought tickets. Additional information is available through www.friendsandpartners.it.
The tour was among the most anticipated events of the Italian summer season.
