Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion, will miss this year's tournament as he continues recovery from a right wrist injury. The Spanish player announced Tuesday that he is withdrawing from the entire grass-court swing, including the Queen's Club event in London.

"My recovery is going well and I feel much better, but unfortunately I'm still not ready to be able to play, and that's why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen's and Wimbledon," Alcaraz, 23, wrote on social media. "They are two really special tournaments for me and I'll miss them a lot. We keep working to return as soon as possible!"

Alcaraz sustained the right wrist injury during the Barcelona Open in April. He subsequently withdrew from the French Open, where he is the two-time defending champion, to allow for continued recovery. The injury has also forced him to miss Madrid and Rome earlier in the clay-court season.

The player is a two-time champion at Queen's, last winning the title in 2025. At Wimbledon, he reached the final last year but lost to Jannik Sinner. He had won the tournament in 2023 and 2024.

According to reports, medical staff and the player determined it prudent not to force a return on grass surfaces, which require rapid movements and quick directional changes. The decision aims to preserve his long-term condition and avoid potential setbacks that could compromise his recovery.

Alcaraz has not competed since the Barcelona Open in April, when the injury occurred during his second-round match against Otto Virtanen.
