Arsenal are Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City drew 1-1 at Bournemouth on Tuesday, a result that leaves the defending champions mathematically unable to catch the Gunners with one round remaining.

Arsenal finished the season with 82 points, leading the table for nearly the entire campaign. Manchester City, managed by Pep Guardiola, finished on 78 points with only three points still available from their final match, leaving them four points behind Arsenal with no possibility of closing the gap.

The title was confirmed when Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi scored in the first half to put the home side ahead. Erling Haaland equalized for City in the 94th minute, but the late goal came too late to alter the outcome. Arsenal had defeated Burnley 1-0 on Monday, putting them in position to win the title if City failed to win their remaining matches.

Arsenal's squad and staff, including manager Mikel Arteta, gathered at the club's training ground in Hertfordshire to watch Manchester City's match. When the final whistle confirmed the draw, celebrations erupted immediately. Players jumped and embraced one another, along with club staff members, with footage of the scenes shared across social media platforms. The club posted on social media with the message "We did it, together."

Fans celebrated across north London, particularly in the Islington area where Arsenal is based. Supporters gathered in bars and streets, honking horns and chanting as news of City's draw spread. The celebrations continued at the Emirates Stadium, where crowds gathered to mark the achievement.

This title ends a drought that began after the 2003-04 season, when Arsène Wenger's "Invincibles" won the Premier League without losing a match. Arsenal had finished second in the league for three consecutive seasons before this campaign. The club also experienced a fifth-place finish four years ago, behind rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Mikel Arteta was appointed manager in December 2019 with no previous managerial experience, though he had worked as an assistant under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Arsenal's title win comes as the club prepares for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on May 30 in Budapest.

The trophy will be presented to Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard on Sunday at Selhurst Park during the club's final match against Crystal Palace. Defender Riccardo Calafiori won the title on his 24th birthday, making him the latest Italian to win the Premier League. Arsenal finished the season with 25 victories, seven draws, and five defeats.
