Ecuador officially announced its 26-player squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, May 31, just before the federation's deadline imposed by FIFA. Coach Sebastián Beccacece delayed the announcement to allow defenders William Pacho and Piero Hincapié to complete the Champions League final in Budapest.
The squad includes established players such as goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez, midfielder Moisés Caicedo, forward Enner Valencia, and defender Alan Franco. Pacho and Hincapié, both key defensive pieces, were among the final confirmations after their Champions League participation.
Three players in the squad compete in Argentine football: Galíndez, midfielder Kendry Páez, and defender Jordy Caicedo. Jackson Porozo and Anthony Valencia, who scored in Ecuador's final warm-up match—a 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia—also made the roster.
Ecuador will compete in Group E alongside Ivory Coast, Curaçao, and Germany in the tournament, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The squad combines experienced players with younger talent as the federation aims to achieve Ecuador's best World Cup performance, with qualification to the round of 16 as an objective.
The team enters the tournament on an unbeaten run of 18 consecutive matches.
