AC Milan have rejected an approach from New York City FC for Christian Pulisic and intend to extend the midfielder's contract, according to reports Monday.

NYCFC explored what The Athletic journalist Tom Bogert described as an "expensive" deal with Milan for the 27-year-old American, but the Serie A club made clear the player is not available for sale this summer. Bogert confirmed the details in an interview with CBS Sports.

Pulisic currently has one year remaining on his Milan contract. Despite the limited time left on his deal, the Rossoneri have already decided to activate a clause that would extend his agreement for an additional season, according to multiple reports.

"Milan are in a transitional period, with a new head coach and entirely new directors. They say Christian Pulisic is not for sale," Bogert said.

Pulisic joined Milan from Chelsea in 2023 and has established himself as a key player for the club. The USMNT international featured in Serie A action during the 2025-26 season, including a match against Torino in March.

In separate transfer news, New York City FC announced the acquisition of forward Bénie Traoré from Swiss Super League club FC Basel on Monday. The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international signed a contract through the 2029-30 season with an option for 2030-31 and will occupy a Designated Player roster spot.

Traoré has recorded 50 goals and 25 assists across 162 professional matches. Prior to his time at Basel, the forward played for Häcken in Sweden, Sheffield United in England, and Nantes in France.

"We are excited to welcome Bénie to New York City FC," said NYCFC sporting director Todd Dunivant. "Bénie brings pace, versatility, and a proven track record of getting on the score sheet. In addition to what he contributes on the field, Bénie will also add to our locker room and team culture through his infectious personality and team-first mentality."
