An SUV overturned and crashed into a one-story home in Jamaica, Queens on Wednesday, resulting in a partial vacate order for the residence. The incident occurred at 177-29 115th Ave. around 3:20 p.m.
Fire Department of New York officials said the vehicle overturned and struck the side of the house. FDNY personnel rescued the person inside the car.
Dahriel Gonzalez, the resident of the damaged home, was inside at the time of the collision. "The next thing I know I'm looking outside, I'm seeing this guy... the guy in the car has his hand sticking out the window," Gonzalez said. The impact created a hole in the side of his house.
Gonzalez immediately called 911 and then contacted his father to report the incident. He told his father that something had struck the house again, indicating this was not an isolated occurrence.
According to homeowners, this marks the fourth time their residence has been struck by a vehicle. The pattern of collisions has made the property a recurring target for traffic-related damage, prompting authorities to issue the partial vacate order following Wednesday's crash.
